TRAINING NOTES. [by telegraph.] Christchurch, To-day. The racecourse is now very busy every morning, preparatory to the Spring Meeting next week. This morning a large amount of work was done. Le Loup and Lady Emma both went a good gallop, especially the latter. Old Chancellor also did capital work. Grip’s action has not improved, hut ho is still favorite for the G.J.C Handicap. Cheviot, brother to Sir Modred, is the favorite for the Welcome Stakes, and Amulet for the Derby, for which event Hinemoa has improved in the betting. Mata is a good favonte for the Cup, and will probably see level money before the start.
