[pee reuter’s agency.] Wreck of the Republic. Melbourne, July 27. A private telegram has been received here this morning reporting that the ship Republic, 1,361 tons, Captain Holmes, which left this port for Calais on March 20th, with a full cargo of wheat, has gone ashore at that port, and is expected to become a total wreck. The Te Anau. Sailed this afternoon —Te Anau, for the Bluff. Another Case. Sydney, To-day. A fresh case of supposed small-pox at Waterloo is reported to the Health Officer. The disease has not, however, sufficiently developed to show clearly that it is variola.
