AUSTRALIAN.
[per reuter’s agency.] Satisfactory. Sydney, July 27. Admiral the Earl of Clanwilliam is now out of danger. Awaiting Orders. Instructions have been received by telegraph from the Admiralty for the detached squadron to wait further orders before proceeding on its voyage. The Ministerial Elections. Melbourne, July 26. The elections for West Boukc and Ararat took place to-day, and resulted in the return of Sir Bryan O’Loughlen for the former by a small majority. Mr David Gaunson, the new Minister of Lands, was, however, defeated for Ararat by a large majority. The returns from Moira and Delatite are not yet complete, but the re-election of Mr Bolton (Postmaster-General) and Mr J. H. Graves (Minister of Customs) for these constituencies is considered certain.
