To the Editor. Sir, —ln your issue of Saturday last, a letter appears signed by Thomas Quill, ioferring to the Ploughing Match Dinner, which is to be held at Shearman’s Somerset Hotel. The following resolution which was unanimously passed at a meeting of the Ploughing Match Committee, held on the 28th Juno last, will, perhaf>s, satisfy Mr Quill that the “ matter was not left in the hands of the Secretary for him to give to whoever suited his purpose best”:—Copy of resolution—“ That the Secretary bo requested to arrange with Mr Shearman for a dinner to bo held after the ploughing match.’’—l am, Ac., Geo. Jameson, Secretary Ploughing Match. Ashburton, 18th July, 1881.
