- Ashburton Guardian Office, Monday afternoon. •Mr Allred Harrison reports for the weekending July 2.as follow* On Tuesday, June 28th, I held a sale of draughts, cowSj' alhd other stock, on the farm in the . occupation of Mr Gardiner, near Winslow; *" all entries were disposed of atprices, as a rule, in favor of, purchasers ; however, * ’ beingaforced sale, all had to be cleared. of fruit and forest trees, jwhen every lot were sold at fair prices. On Saturday, ~ Judy 2nd, I held my regular weekly sale. The rain kept a few away, but still the attendance was good ; prices as follows ; Several hack* were disposed of from L 3 . uOslo L 8 10 ;pigs, 19 were entered and <’■- sold at medium to good rates; fowls, 2s 6d to 8s jper pair; ducks, 3s 9d per pair; ■ v implements sold fairly well, also harness. • ! Produce—Potatoes, 50a to 55s per ton; onions, Jd to Id per lb ; carrots, 35s per ton, barley, 2uds, Is 6d per bushel; chick Wheat, 2s per bushel; peas, 2s per bushel; , . 'crushed barley, 2s per bushel; cheese, 4d per lb ; bacon, 6d per lb ; hams, 8d per fb ; pork, 3d per lb. A large quantity of tools and sundries sold at high prices.
