Larceny. —William Brown was charged with having, on the 18th instant, stolen three blankets and two woollen rugs, valued at L2 10a, the property of Mr John Morton Ollivier, of the Temuka Hotel. Claim, L 3 125,. on a judgment summons.- The defendant, a woman, said that she"was keeping house for a contractor, named Nelson Eden, at Ashburton. She got no money from him, but he paid for her clothes and keep: for herself and child. He is the father of her child. Defendant passes in Ashburton as Mrs Edemy/The debt was contracted four years before ahe went to live with him. The Bench ordered the defendant to pay the amount due on or before the Ist July next, or, in, default, to be for 14 days in Addington gaol. ‘ The Court then adjourned.
