MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, June 18. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco,] Continents of Europe and America, West.lndies, Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Wanaka, as follows: —Ordinary letters at 6.30 p .m. ; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 p.in. ; money orders, at 3 p.m. ; registered letters at 5 p.m. ; guard's van, 8.30 p.m. train. Mialls close at the Ashburton Post Office, as follows; For Christchurch and North at 6.30 a. m. 10 a.m., and 5 p.m., daily. For Chertsey Rakaia, &c., at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. For Dunedin, Tinwald, Winslow, Hinds, Coldstream, Raugitata, Orari, Winchester, and Geraldine, at 10 a.m. daily. For Temuka, at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., daily. For Timaru and South, at 6 a.m., 10 Am., and 4.20 p.m., daily. For- Greenstreet, Ashburton Forks, Mount Somers,' and Ashburton Gorge, «n Tuesdays and Fridays, at 10.30 a m.
