I don’t believe the site of Ashburton will revert to a sheep-walk again quite so soon as some people imagine, and it’s being jumped upon in this way won’t hinder its advancement in the least. In proof that this is my way of thinking, I point to the business I am now engaged in building up, which, thanks to the public of Ashburton and surrounding districts, bids fair to be of a substantial character.
