FIRE IN J CHRISTCHURCH

At 5.20 this morning a fire broke out in one of four newly rerected and unoccupied houses belonging to W. Brice, situate in Oxford terrace. The Brigade were quickly on the spot, and the tire extinguished. It is estimated that the damage done is about LIOO. The four houses were insured for L2OO in the Royal office. The police arrested a man named John Brown, alias Henry Duncan, who was seen about the premises when the fire broke out.
