At" the wool sales to-day, 9,100 bales were offered. The tone of the bidding was strong. A Terrible Accident. : News has been received from Canada that a terribe accident has occurred near London, on the Thames, in the province of Ontario. An excursion steamer with several hundred persons on. Ijoard capsized, and 175 perished. An Unfounded Rumor. There is no foundation for • the rumor recently circulated that the Bey of Tunis has been deposed by the Sultan. Unaccountable. Further information has been received by the Admiralty with regard to the blowiug up of H.M.S. Dotterell in Magellan’s Straits on April 20th. The survivors state that two explosions ocurred, -both about the same time, ten, o’clock in the morning, while the vessel was at anchor.
