NEW BUILDING.
«. We have been favored with an inspection of the plans of the new building now in course of erection in Cameron street. It is executed to the order of Mr Lazarus, late of Lyttelton, and is intended for a boarding house, having two stories, and being constructed of wood and iron. The ground floor will include six rooms, viz., dining-room, T4ft6in x 23ft 6in; two sitting-rooms, 12ft 6in x 15ft;. kitchen, 12ft x 17ft; proprietor’s room, 12ft 6in x 14ft 6in ; and scullery, 10ft x 7ft 6in. The upper floor is divided into eleven chambers, eight of which are designed as single and three as double bedrooms. The former are 9ft x Bft, and the latter 12ft x 10ft. The building will be scrim and paper lined, with rusticated front, the upper windows having segement heads, and will cost about L 650. Messrs Nelson and Coutts arethe contractors, the moulding being sublet to Messrs Page and Hodder, and when complete will form a very substantial erection. It has a frontage of 37ft 6in on Cameron street Messrs Fooks and Son are the architects.
