(Dulce est desipere in loco). — Horace, Says Horace, “ It Is very sweet Desipere in loco. ” His age, alas I Though cultured, was Not blest with nibs of cocoa. Else why omit The keyword ? It Would help the meaning beaucoup, Dulce ’si, ’tis sweet To-sip-or-eat. What is ?—Why, nibs of cocira. In invalids Morbific seeds Thus treated, find it’s “ no go ” ; If you’d be strong Eschew Souchong, And let your drink be cocoa. From y-udy.
