CHURCH SEATS.
TO THE EfiJTOB. Sib, —Will you iindly permit met( call attention to the manner in whicl seats in St Stephen’s Church are appro priated. On Sunday evening last, I canu to church long before the bells stopped, and found my pew occupied by people who had no right to take possession of it. Now, I understand that when pews are let at a rental, under certain conditions, these conditions should be observed. One of these conditions is, that the seat will be reserved for the holder unt’l the bells stop, and then the pew will be open to the public. If, at any time, a person can appropriate anybody’s seat, then the sooner the latter arrangement is put a stop to the better. —I am, &c., May 16th,. 1881. Jonah.
