A telegram from Archbishop Steins, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, who left for Europe, via Sydney, in ill health, reports that he is so much worse - that he remains in Sydney, being unable to proceed on his journey. Another Vacancy. Nelson, To-day. Mr Acton Adams, M. H.R., who has been seriously ill for some time, notifies his resignation of his seat in the House. Manslaughter. Dunedin, To-day. At the conclusion of the inquest on the body of the unfortunate man Garrett, who was killed by the recent tramway accident, the jury returned a verdict of manslaughter against the conductor, who was committed for trial. Bail was allowed, himself in LIOO and two sureties of LSO each.
