The English Markets. ! following is Messli Miles Bros, and Co.’s colonial produce report, dated London, March 24th •' Wool—Oiir sale room has been well attended’ 1 dating the past fortnight, and a brisket tone: has prevailed. The current prices for most wools are now about equal to opening rates,' the exception being superior fleece, washed, Australian parcels,' which are still rather low. Crossbreds of the better kinds have been selling well but, on the other hand, faulty - merino lambswpol is neglected. The present series of sales, will close to-morrow, and. up to the present time out of the 297,000 bales available at these sales, 233,166 bales tiave passed the hammer, of which abaut 19,300 bales have been bought in, and it is estimated lhat altogether the quantity to be carried over tb foe next series will amount to 35,000 bales. The fresh arrivals for May-June comprise New; Soiith. Wales and Queensland, 19,447 trite* * Vicldna, 46,100; South Australia, 28,552 ; Western Australia, 2,199 ; Tasmania, 3,973 5 New Zealand, 21,689; Cape, 25,824; total,’ 147,864ba1e5. ‘ Wheat and flour.—Stocksofwheat having run rather low, with a fair Continental demand, our markets'have become firmer, and some of foe recall arrivals of Californian wheat in . excellent condition have brought 2s to 2s 6d per qr. pver the prices ruling three weeks ago.. Supplies of white wheat on passage to the United Kingdom are,, however, Gbeiral, being estimated now at 2,193, 000 qrs., and it is, therefore, doubtful whether the advincc will be maintained. Australian wheat off'dost is haw worth 495, and on passage (February-March, b.f.1.), per 480 lbs c.f. andi. for-orders,’ ■ ’ There have been offers of New Zealand wheat.at 455, cf. and i., orders AprilMay shipment, but we have not Heard of any business having been done at that figure. In oats, owing to considerable supplies which are shortly expected from Russia and Swiden, New Zealand has suffered a decline. Nevl Zealand barley is not in very brisk demandjnst now. We quote ex granary—Australian wheat, 50s to 51s; New Zealand long berried, 48s to 51s ; ordinary, 46s to 51s; and inferior,'42s to 455. all per 496 lb. Australian flour, superfine, 34s to 365; and New Zealand,: 30510 335 per 28olb; New Zealand oats, fine, 27s tp,3os, and ordinary, 21s to 26s per imperial qnaray.,, ? New Zealand barley—Malting, 30s per 448 lbs. New Zealand beans, 45s to 48s per 504 lbs. ! New Zealand oatmeal, 190 s to 210 s per ton. Tallow and ,Hides.—There has only been a moderate demand for Australian tallow, and ; prices, bavej slightly declined, the value to-day ofgobd to fine mutton being 35510365, and good to fine beef tallow 32s 6d to 33s 3d per cwt Imperial sorts are still in request, and command fuinmdritet rates ■ The present stock of Australian tallow in first hands is now about 6,250 casks. -Hides continue dull of sale, but prices afre-unaltered.
