Ashburton Guardian Office, Monday afternoon. Mr Alfred Harrison reports of hia Saturday’s sale as follows : There were numerous entries of draughts and hacks, hut very few were placed, at low rates. Implements, especially ploughs, sold well. Pigs were all sold at prices still lower than last week. Fowls, 2s to 2s 6d per pair ; duck, 4b 3d per pair; potatoes, L2 10s to L 3 per ton ; chick wheat, Is 6d to 2s per bushel; barley. Is 6d to Is 9d per bushel; carrots, Ix2 per ton ; onions, |d per lb ; oranges, 5s to 7s 6d per case ; cheese, 4d to s£d per lb ; tea, 22s 6d per box, 121 b ; pork, 3|d per lb, in carcase. A quantity ' of harness sold at good prices, also a lot of miscellaneous goods. The attendance was very large, and the sale continued with brisk bidding until nearly dusk.
