Brigham Young’s Son Arrived Polygamy.

(Denvar Courier,) John A. Young, son of :he 1> < Brigham, arrived in Denvar at midnight on February 15th, and was immediately placed under arrest by the United States Marshal, on a telegram from Salt Lake saying that he had been indicted for bigamy. A warrant produced charges him with having married a second and a third wife on the 10th of January last. When arrested he said to the officer : This charge and arrest are but persecution. They are bunting me down. Our people have been persecuted and reviled ever since Utah became a territory, of the United States. The national Government will respect all other religions and creeds but ours, the one in which I have been bom and bred and educated until it has become just as much a part of me as Catholicism is of a priest or Judaism ot a Hebrew. Still, I hardly thought that this persecution would follow me here. If I had my business affairs arranged I would gladly start back on the next train. If the United States Marshal had sent me word that he wanted me in Salt Lake on such and such a day I could have arranged matters and would have been there.” Young was taken before a United States Commissioner and placed under 2,000d01s bonds, to await the arrival ofthe Marshal from Utah. Young is a contractor on the Southern Pacific Railroad, and came to Denver to meet his wife, nee Luella Cobb, and two children, who were present when he was arrested.
