[per bedter’s agency.] Second Best Again. Adelaide, To-day. A six days’ pedestrian tournament was finished here on Saturday night. Edwards walked the greatest distance, 451 miles; Swan, of New Zealand, coming in next, with 413 miles. Both men did their distances easily. Bad for the Washerwomen. Sydney, To-day. The Union Co.’s steamship Hero, which left here on Friday last for New Zealand, took 380 Chinese. Next in Suit. The steamer" Brisbane, which was quarantined at Cooktown for smallpox, is now on her way here with 350 Chinese.
