Picnic at Waterton.— On Friday last a picnic, in connection with the Waterton Good Templars, took place at the Hinds rivor bed. About 50 adults and children left Waterton in the morning and proceeded to the Hinds, and after indulging themselves in some enjoyable games, they retired to the beach, where a splendid spread was provided by Sisters Shutt and Norriah. After some more games and feasting, the party commenced the return trip about 4 p.m., having enjoyed themselves immensely. In the evening an entertainment was held in the Library Hall, when about 120 persons were present, Bro. Savage, W.C.T., presiding. A number of songs, readings, and recitations were given by the following ladies and gentlemen :—Mrs Bysh, Sis. Moore, A. Norrish, L. Pearsons, and N. Read, songs by Mr J. Davis, Bros. M. Day, W. Syden, W. Mcßae, S. Norriah, and G. Pearson, also, a piece by a juvenile Templar. Mr Jennings, Bros. Norriah and J. Clothier gave readings, and Bro. Savage gave a recitation. Altogether, a very pleasant evening was spent. After passing a vote of thanks to the chairman and singing the National Anthem, the proceedings closed.
