[per reuter’s agency.] The Frontier Question. Athens, April 10. A large meeting of the people took place here to-day in consequence of the action of Government in accepting the proposals lately made by the Porte for the settlement of the frontier question. The matter was discussed in excited language, and speeches were made denouncing the policy of the Government. The agitation is increasing throughout the country. Evacuation of Candahar. Calcutta, April. 18. Intelligence has been received from Cundahar that the evacuation of that city by the British garrison has commenced. A report is current, however, that, although the troops will be withdrawn from Candahar, several British regiments will permanently occupy the Chaman and Pischeen Valley. Governor of Candahar. Calcutta, April 10. The force despatched by the Ameer to Candahar has arrived there, and the Governor appointed by him was installed to-day.
