We resume our report. the Bonovma claim. It was resolved in this matter—“ That a committee consisting of the Chairman, Mr. Wright, and the mover, be appointed to interview the Mayor re surplus land fund, and also to arrange proportion of coat of maintenance of Hospital.” WATERTON POUND. A letter was read from the Waterton poundkeeper, saying he was willing to act as poundkeeper for the next two years, provided the pound were put in proper repair. It was determined that the engineer should be requested to inform Mr Holland, the poundkeeper, to attend to these repairs. NOTICES OP MOTION. Mr. Wright gave notice of motion — “ That the Council apply to the Minister for Public Works for permission to construct a foot bridge over the Hinds in connection with the railway bridge. Mr Grigg gave notice that he would move at the June meeting—“ That a grant of L4O be made by the Council to the Winslow Cemetery Board.” tenders. The following tenders were accepted : Water race.—Con tract No. 1: Y. Soland, at Is lOfd per chain ; No. 2 : J. Quigley, at 2s per chain ; No. 3 : L. Mangham, at Is lOd per chain ; No. 4 : L. Mangham, at Is 7d per chain. Ploughing and fencing cattle yards.—P. Rattray (for fencing), LSG 19s ; Smithel (for ploughing), 7s per acre. YEARLY BALANCE-SHEET. It was decided to consider the yearly balance sheet at a special meeting, to be held in May after the ordinary meeting. The meeting then terminated.
