A CHAPTER OF ACCIDENTS.
(By Tglegp.aph.) Auckland, To-day. Two railway employes, named Grey and Jolly, were shooting in the Waikato district, when Grey, sighting some game, stood up to fire. The boat lurched, and the gun exploding discharged its contents, blowing away the back of Jolly’s head, killing him instantly. A man named Joseph Hill, residing at the Commercial Hotel, accidentally took a poisonous lotion instead of medicine. A doctor was called in, and prompt measures averted serious consequences. A little boy, son of Mr J. O. M'Donald, Government Insurance Agent, Hamilton, fell into the Waikato river and was drowned. Two young children, who fell from different wharves in Auckland harbor on Saturday, were rescued by bystanders jumping in.
