[per reuter’s agency.] Improving in Health. Melbourne, To-day. The Marquis of Normanby is daily improving in health, and is making satisfactory progress towards recovery. The Hawkesbury Handicap. Sydney, To-day. The Hawkesbury Autumn Handicap was won by The Barber, with Major second, Falmouth third. Housed at Last. Marquis De Ray’s immigrants have been housed in the Agricultural Hall, in the Domain, the building having been hired for the purpose. Satisfied With the Ministry. Adelaide, April 9. The general elections, which are proceeding in this colony, have so far proved favorable to the Government. Most of the Ministers have been reelected.
