MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Wednesday, April 13. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for. specially addressed correspondence only), Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, the East, China, Japan, Aden, Mauritius, Natal,' Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, and Australian Colonies, &c., per express train (to connect with s.s. Rotomahana at Bluff), as follows:—Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m..; books and newspapers at 6 a.m. ; registered latterp at 5 p.m. on Tuesday I2th ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday 12th. Late lee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, April 13£h.
The next mail for the United Kingpom . (via San Francisco) will leave on April 23rd. Mails close at the Ashburton Post Office, as follows For Christchurch and North at 5.30 a. m. 10 am., and 5 p.m., daily. For Chertsey Rakaia, &c. , at 10 a. m. and 6.. p.m. daily. For Dunedin, Tinwald, Winslow, Hinds, Coldstream, Rangitata, Orari, Winchester, and Geraldine, at 10 a.m. daily. For Temuka, at 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., daily.. For Timaru and South, at 6 am., 10 am.*, and 4.20 p.m., daily. . For Greonstreet,; Ashburton Forks, Hbllnfe. Somers, and Ashburton Gorge, on-Tuesdays and Fridays, at 10.30 a m. Ij For. Ashton, Waterton and Longbeach, - :4.3Q p.m. daily. ■ For Wakanui, Elgin, Seafield, Newland, and Kyle, on Tuesdays,- Thursdays, and Saturdays, at 6 am.
