Only in Fairness. — Mr Mills’ creditors, at a meeting held yesterday, unanimously resolved to grant him his immediate discharge. I.O.O.F.—The business transacted by the Grand Lodge yesterday, at its session in Wellington, was of an unimportant character. The officers during the afternoon went for a cruise round the harbor, and in the evening were entertained at a banquet. Rain Wanted. —Raiu is badly needed in Wellington. There is only twenty-five feet of water in the reservoir. Fire in Christchurch.- A house situated in Harvey street was destroyed by fire last evening. The inquiry could not fairly be held during his absence, and no complaints are made as to the present management of the Asylum. The Absconding Road Board Clerk. —Regarding the item published by us a few days ago to the effect that Mr Barnett, clerk to the Levels Road Board, had left suddenly for San Francisco, it has since been ascertained by an audit of his accounts by Mr Ollivier, Government auditor, that these are perfectly correct, and no deficiency exists therein.
