(Per Press Association.) Return of the Champion. Grahamsiown, To-day. The representatives, with the Carbine Champion, reached here last evening. A large parade of volunteers met them, and the Mayor and County Chairman welcomed them. A ball takes place on Thursday night. Mining. The men are setting to work vigorously on the new ground taken up at Waihi Plains. A reef has been traced two miles. Uncle in Trouble. Wellington, To-day. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, M. Hynia, for a breach of the Pawnbrokers Act, by failing to enter the amount of interest to be charged on various articles, was fined L 5 and costs.
