\Vc arc indebted to our member in Parliament, Mr K. C. Wright, lor the following telegram from the 1 Lon, the Premier, relative to the opening of our Industrial exhibition ; “ His Kxcellcncy the Covernor will have much pleasure in opening the exhibition of Colonial Industries at Ashburton, on the 2-i Lh insl.— -John Hall.” From the above telegram it will be necessary to postpone the opening of our Exhibition till the ;:.|ih insl., in order that our new Covernor may lie present. The Committee, we believe) have wisely determined upon this course, as the presence of the Governor will give greater ix/at to the proceedings. Intending exhibitors will no doubt be gratified at his excellency's acquicscncc, and should favorable weather, with other matters, favor the promotion of the Exhibition, Ashburton will have something to be proud of.
