Watson, after scoring 10, was bowled by Spofforth. • Secretan’s second ball was held by Boyle at mid on, 3 —o —l9. Hartland succeeded. He was missed twice. Leach w r as bowled by Spofforth. 4—6— 12, Corfe followed, and bit the demon to the boundary for 4, but stepped out to the first bg.ll from Palmer, and was stumped. 54 —51. Reeves came, making 4, and was then bdwled by Palmer. 6 —4 —6 i. Ashby followed, and was caught ; and -bowled , by Palmer, 7—3—67. W. JJrith was bowled by Palmer, without scoring. 8—o —69. : Play was resumed after'lunch at 3 o’clock, and Hartland was immediately
caught by Jarvis off Spofforth. 9 — 2 S-75. -75. Cotterill was caught by Slight after scoring two singles. 10 —5 —85. Redmayne joined Fowler, and runs came apace until Fowler was well caught by Spofforth, after making 24. Later. The Canterbury team are all out for 134 runs.
