HALF HOLIDAY.

To the Editor. Sir, —Having had the half-holiday before, I would very much like to enjoy ! it again. I daresay there are many merchants, legal professionals, tradesmen, arid employees who would gladly avail themselves of the opportunity, with their wives, families, or sweethearts, of enjoying cricket, football or any other amusement that their inclination may: bo. I venture to say that after the bid seasons that we have had to battle with (the high, low, rich, and poor have all had their share of it) a few hours once a week to all classes WouWfbe a benefit. If it is said that it would be detrimental to our business,: I ask how 1 If every place of business is closed, where is the business lost 1 All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Open, and shut up shop on Saturday at 10.30 p.m.‘; to church next day, morning and evening ; all through the week books, books, debts, and work, surely our existence cannot last for ever, and I uphold keeping the Sabbath day holy, and those who cannot get out in the vyeok for amusement will do so on Sunday. Trusting a more able penman will lake up Ihe matter, and trusting the public will support the movement, and pardon 'me for intruding upon your valuable space. I am, Ac., Employee.
