(Pet Reuter's Agency.} The'-Intercolonial Conference. ‘ r - r Syd’ney, Jim. 26: The Intercolonial Conference met again to-day. The report of the select committee which was appointed to enquire into the powers possessed by the High Commissioner for the Western Pacific was brought up and adopted, with a view to representation 5 being made to the Home Government on the subject. A motion In favor of intercolonial free trade in wines was introduced, but, after discussion, was rejected. The question of the restriction of Chinese immigration tin ougliout the colonics was again under ct nsideration, and considerable difife. -nee of opinion on the subject was sho -n. The Victorian and New South Wa' s representatives, favored the adoption of the draft Bill which was before the, Conference, but the Tasmanian, South Australian and New Zealand delegates supported the Bill which is in ope ation in Queensland. The report of toe committee appointed to prepare a memorial to the Imperial' Government on the subject of the Western Australia scheme for the introduction of Chinese was brought in and adopted, and it was further decided to submit the same to the Secretary, of State for the colonies.
