THE WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

The Wesleyan Conference assembled here for its eighth annual session last" night. Twenty-six members were ,pre : sent. The retiring president, Rev. R, Lee, delivered an address referring to the progress made during the past year and the business to be brought before the meeting. The election of officers was then proceeded with, and the Rev., 8.. Richardson, of St; Albans, elected, president by a large majority. At first a ballot for secretary was to . have been, taken between Revs, W. Morley and R. Bavin, but at the former’s request, the latter was elected., The Rev. W, J. Williams was appointed assistant; secretary, the Rev. T. G. Carr journal' secretary, and the Rev. G. Bond corresponding secretary. , The i|ewly- T elected president then delivered' an address. A cordial, vote of thanks was, passed to. the ; retiring president/ and', secreiary. The Revs. Messrs. Buddie,Morley, and others addressed the meet--ing, and the Rev. Mr. Buller, who recently returned from England, was . cordially welcomed, and gave an intg-; resting account of his Home experience.
The first draft of stations shows the following contemplated ministerial appointments for the year : —Auckland and Grafton Road, Revs.- Oliver and Isett; Upper Thames, Rev. Pinetoll ; Manuka, Rev. Bond; Pukekohe', Griffin'; Hamilton, Abernethyj Raglan, Smith; Papariui, Slade ; New Plymouth, M'Nicol and Rouse; Patea, Luxford ; Wanganui, Williams ; Maftoii, W:‘ Harper; Rahgitikei, Worker; Palmerston North, L. Hudson; Wellington, Kirk and i—oL , Napier, Bunn ; Moioon, Lee ; Richmond, jdchjHokitika, S. Lawry; Timaru, Beck; Lyttelton,: Syrnonds ; Kaiapoi, W. B. Martin; Springston, Smalley and F. Martin; Leeston, Armitage; Temuka, Law; Mornington, F. Dewsbury ; Balclutha, Gray; Milton, P. Wells; Roxburgh, Buttle; Invercargill, BavinJ; Tapanui, Murray. The circuits not named above are to have the same ministers as last year.
