(Per Press Association .,) Fire. Nelson, To-day. A fire occurred at Dixon’s cordial factory at eight o’clock this morning. The building was greatly damaged, but the,; machinery was not injured. The fire occurx-ed in the office, but the books were saved. The office and the building were completely gutted, but the business can be carried on. The building was insured in the South British for L4OO, and the stock for LSOO, but in what office is not known. Wool. Dunedin, To-day. At Donald Reid’s wool sale yesterday several greasy lots fetched the highes prices yet obtained in the local market. They brought from Tjjl to 12;Jd. ; washed, to 19d. ; scoured, 19|d. The Colonial Bank. The profits of the Colonial Bank for the half year amount to L 13,862, which, with a balance from the previous half j'ear; makes a total of L 16,836 Os. lid. divisible, Of this, the director’s recommend the carrying of LI,OOO to 'the roScrve fnnd, which will then stand at L28;0OO ; the payment of a six per cent, dividend absorbing L 12,000 ; and the carrying forward of L 1,943. 1 • ' ''
