Land League Leaders Burned in Effigy.

Grenadier Guards Ordered to Ireland.

London, Dec. 20. Mr. King has with the approval of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the United States, drafted resolutions to be submitted to Congress, expressing regret at the unhappy position of Ireland, and that the British Government appears to be unable to fulfil its normal duties for the protection of life and property; alfo that the Hon. Mr. Evart, Foreign Secretary ot State be instructed to inform the Government of Great Britain that it is thought to be expedient that there should be immediate reforms in Irish affairs, and that paification should be prosecuted in a kindly and considerate spirit. A later telegram from America-states that the Congress is likely to adopt the resolutions, which have caused much excitement here. Dec. 21. The Orangemen of Londonderry assembled at Colerai ne,and burned an effigy of Parnell and Beggar, Land League leaders.

A second battalion of Grenadier Guards, so rarely sent out of England, is ordered to proceed to Ireland. In consequence of the disturbed state of aflairs in Ireland, the Empress of Austria, who had arranged to go to Ireland again this tvinter for the hunting season has abandoned her intention.
