MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, for the following places (subject to necessary alterations) as under:— Tuesday, December 28. For Otago and Australian Colonies, via the Bluff, per Ringarooma, at 1.40 p.m. ; late fee letters at 2 p.m. : guard’s van, 2.30 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, Per Hawoa, at 7.30 p.m. ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. Friday, December 31. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Ac., as under : —Money orders and registered letters, at 5 p.m.; books and newspapers, at G p.m.; ordinary letters, at 10 p.m. A supplementary mail will be closed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January, 1, 1881. Late fee letters may bo posted in the guard’s van attached to the 8.30 p.m. train on Saturday, January 1.
