MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, for the following places (subject to necessary .alterations) as under:—
Friday, December 31
For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco) &c., as under : —Money orders and registered letters, at 5 p.m.; books and newspapers, at 9 p.m.; ordinary letters, at 10 p.m. A supplementary mail will be closed at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January, 1, 1881. Late fee letters may be posted in the guard’s van attached to the 8.30 p.m. train on Saturday, January 1.
Oh Saturday, December 25th (Christmas Day), all branches, of the Post Office will be closed.
On Saturday, Ist January (New Year's Day)", all branches of the Post Office will be closed. .
