At a Cabinet Council held to-day it was resolved to ask members to pass supplies and then adjourn for a fortnight, otherwise the House will sit daily during Christmas week.
The Markets. Adelaide, Dec. 17. Wheat per bushel, 4s. 6d., old; Adelaide wheat, new, 3s. 3d. The tone of wheat is generally quiet. Adelaide flour, Lio 155.; country, L 9 10s. Freight to London by sailing vessel, 505.; freight to United Kingdom, 505.; height to the United Kingdom from outports, 525. 6d. Sydney, Dec. 17. Produce and other markets unchanged. Not True. A number of working men, who arrived at Newcastle from New Zealand by recent vessels, state that the colony is in a very depressed condition, and that hundreds are waiting a chance to quit.
