THE SECOND Annual Sports Meeting of the Ashburton CALEDONIAN SOCIETY ■will be held in the Agricultural and Pastoral Asssociation’a Show Ground, Ashburton, on MONDAY AND TUESDAY, December 27th and 28th, When the prizes enumerated below will be competed for. Judges for the Sports: For Pipe Music —Messrs. Donald M'Lean, A M'Coll, M'Kinnon, and J. Mac Lean Dunn. For Quoit Throwing —Messrs. G. M. Robinson and George Kidd. For Caber, Stone, and Hammer Throwing —Messrs. Stitt, Hay Smith, and W. Anderson. For Highland Dancing and Best Dressed Highlander Messrs. Donald M'Lean, M'Kinnon, Dr. Stuart and A. M'Coll, For Irish Dancing Messrs. John Boyle, John Black, H. Cullen, and D. Fitzgerald. For Vaulting and Jumping—Messrs. Reid, Quill, and Millar. Racing Handicappers —Messrs. Anderson and Digby. Judge —Mr. M. Stitt, Starter —Mr. S. Saunders. PROGRAMME OF SPORTS : Entrance Money, Five per Cent, on amount of first prize. Entries can be made with the Secretary up to Eleven o’clock on the day of the sports, for such events as have not come off, except for events Nos. 3, 15, 18, and 22, entries for which must be in by noon on the Bth December. For these handicap events the handicaps will be declared on the 15th December, and acceptances must be in the Secretary’s hands by noon of the 22nd December. Members are reminded that their tickets expired on the 80th September last,’'and that their subscriptions are now dile. These are requested to be paid at once to the Secretary or Treasurer. • J.
