Oamaru Races.
Oamaru, Dec 9,
The races were not largely attended, and the events were yoorly contested, the fields being small. The following are the results :
Maiden Plato.—Sylvan in, 1 ; Levant, 2 ; Emerald, 3. Seagull also started. Oamaru Handicap.—Luna, 1 ; Adamant, 2 ; Libeller, 3. Won by a length. Publican’s Handicap.—Randwick, 1 ; Clarence, 2. Counties Plate. —Little John, 1 ; Jean. 2 ; Ned Kelly, 3. The Hack Race was won by Jack, and Maori appropriated the Benevolent Scurry, which brought the first day’s running to a close.
