The Hop Bitters Company contributes Li,ooo towards ibe stakes in the Hanlan v. Laycock race, in consequence of which Hanlan has agreed to row for Lsoo. Dec. 1.
Mr. Cal lan, convicted of libelling Mr. Sullivan, has had bis sentence postponed, with a view of his apolgising. Constantinople, Nov. 30.
The Turkish Government have addressed a communication to the European Powers, invoking their mediation to settle the frontier difficulty with Greece.
