{Pet Pallet's Agency.) Gold. London, Dec. 4. Large withdrawals of gold are being made from the Bank of England for America. Fiery Meeting of the Land League. London, Dec. G. A largely attended meeting, under the auspices of the Irish Land League, was held yesterday at Waterford. Most of the prominent agitators were present, and addressed the meeting. Mr. Parnell made a speech on the occasion, and spoke bitterly against the action of the present Government, accusing it of having conspired against the rights of the people of Ireland. The U.S. National Debt. Washington, Dec. G. President Hayes has addressed a message to Congress, in which he recommends that the National debt of the United States should be refunded into 3 or 3£ per cant, bonds, in place of those now bearing interest at from 4 to G per cent. Icebound Grain. New York, Dec. G. Owingto the extreme severity of the winter, 5,000,000 bushels of grain are now icebound in Lake Erie. An Ironclad for China. Shanghai, Dec. 6. News has been received that the Chinese Government has ordered a most formidable ironclad to be constructed at Stotten, port in the Baltic.
