The Magistrates convicted the proprietor of the Albion Hotel for having in his possession seven boxes of cigars not bearing stamps, as required by the Act. The Magistrates were of opinion that there was no attempt to defraud the revenue, and expressed a hope that the penalty would be mitigated. Tuahi. TheHinemoa, with the mui-dorer, Tuahi, on board, arrived at 11 o'clock this morning. A large number of people were on the wharf to catch a sight of the prisoner, Tuahi. Ho walked ashore, and was at once driven to the gaol. He appeared quite calm. A Good Shot. Dunedin, To-day, Private Grant, of tho Bruce Rifles, made 57 points out of a possible GO at 500 and GOO yards. The Weather. Heavy rain is falling this afternoon, which, interferes with the. attendance at the cattle show.
