Sec., H. C. Jacobson, Esq.; Handicappers, Messrs. Clerk of the Course, S. Saunders, Esq. First Race to start at 1 p. m. 1. Maiden Trot, in saddle, of sovs ; for all horses which have never won £5 in public. Three miles. No weight less than 10 stone. Entrance 15s. 2. Maiden Harness Trotting Race, of sovs. Four miles. To be run in two-wheeled vehicles of any description. Entrance 15s. 3. Ashburton Champion Handicap Trotting Race, in saddle, of sovs. Entry 1 sov.; acceptance 1 sov. Four miles. Weights 12 stone 4 pound. 4. The Buggy Tournament Handicap, of four miles, for sovs. Entry 1 sov.; acceptance 1 sov. Any fourwheeled vehicle owned by a member of the Club allowed to enter. 5. Welter Handicap Race, of sovs. Three miles. Entry 15s. To be ridden by members of the Club. No weight less than 15 stone. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Entries for Nos. 1,2, and sto be made by 5 p.m. on Monday 13th December, 1880. Nominations for Nos. 3 and 4 will be received up till same time. Handicaps will be declared on the ground, and acceptances to be made within fifteen minutes after the posting of the handicaps. No horse will be allowed to compete at this meeting unless owned and commonly resident in the district previous to November Ist. In any race three horses must start to qualify the first horse to claim the full stake. If only two start, one-half of the stake will be given, and no money will be awarded for a walk-over.
