Ashburton Racing Club Spring Meeting.
The following events, reports of which came to hand tod late to. appear in yesterday’s issue, completed the programme : Trotting Race (Handicap), of 15 sovs.: ( Ist horse, 10 sovs ; 2nd horse, 5 sovs.) Catch weights ; 3 miles ; nomination ios. ; acceptance I sov. District horses only. Mr. O. Digby’s r m Siss, aged, 200yds, (Physick) ... ... ... ... 1 Mr. Mordaunt’s br g Rousei, aged, scratch (Owner) ... 2 Betting—3 to 2on Rouser. This race needs but little description, as tile favorite failed to reduce the distance between him and the mare, who eventually won by 230 yards. A Hurry Scurry of L 5, concluded the meeting, which was won by Steamer, beating six others.
