CRITICAL STATE OF AFFAIRS AS REGARDS IRELAND.
— Dissensions in the Cabinet, on the Subject of Strong Measures. ; (By Cable.) London, Nov. 17. It is currently reported to-day that serious differences have arisen in the Cabinet in regard to the policy to be pursued in Ireland. The reports state that a majority of the Ministers favor the adoption of strong measures of coercion for repressing the prevailing disorder in that, country, but Mr. John Bright, Chancellor* of the Duchy of Lancaster, and Mr. Chamberlain, President of the Board of Trade, are strongly opposed to -such a course, and decline to act with their colleagues in carrying out the coercive measures.
