Betting—2 to 1 Sir George, 3to 1 Adamant and The Governor. Sir George and The Governor were quickest away, Marie Antoinette getting off badly, and, running as usual unkindly, was never in it. When the journey was half run, The Governor was still to the fore, but Atlanta and Hilda now joined issue, and The Governor, tiring a bit, the other two raced together to the end. Hilda, however, stayed the longest, and won a good race by half a length.
