No entry will be received for any of the races except on the condition that all disputes shall be decided by the Stewards, whoso decisions in all cases shall be final. A district horse shall mean a horse which has boon commonly resident in, and owned by a resident in the County previous to Sept. 1, 1880, and up to the date of the forthcoming meeting; provided always that any district horse shall not ho disqualified from having run in his bona fide owner’s name in races outside the County during the above-mentioned term. Canterbury Jockey Club rules strictly adhered to unless otherwise specified. No protest will be entertained unless L2 2s be deposited, which will be forfeited should tho protest, in the opinion of the Stewards, prove frivolous. All entries and nominations to be in the hands of the Secretary, addressed to Quill’s Commercial Hotel, not later than nine p.m. on Tuesday, November 2nd. Weights will be published on Saturday, November 13th. Acceptances and Sweeps to be paid to the Secretary not later than nine p.m. on the night of Monday, November 15th. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Secretary, Ashburton, enclosing entrance fees, name and age of horse, and colors of the rider.
