Cape-Williamsou delivered his lecture on “ Alcohol—ls it a necessity ?” In the course of his remarks Mr. Williamson proved conclusively that alcoholic liquor was not a necessity of life, &c., that the human body in health did not require any alcohol at all, but was far better without it. The lecture which lasted more than an hour was a very racy one, bristling with anecdote and illustration, and was very well received indeed. At the close the Rev. Mr. Keall moved a vote of thanks to the lecturer, which was carried by acclamation. The chairman vas Mr. 1. Scott.
