THE TOWN BELTS.
To the Editor.
Sir, —I gee in the Mail this morning an article headed “ The Town. Belts,” which I reckon is very injudicious on their part, as the object of the petition has not been settled. They (the Mail) seem to settle it greatly to their own satisfaction, and in a very peremptory manner. There is no doubt we are in a very anomalous position, but there is no good reason why that anomaly should not be removed and that we be placed in the same position as our neighbors with regard to footpaths, etc., and I have no doubt, if the object of our petition is not satisfactorily settled, we can find moans to have it settled, independent of the Wakanui Road Board.— I am, &c., J.C.
