(Per Renter's Agency.) Damaged in a Gale. Sydney, Oct. 18,
Latest advices from Hong Kong state that the steamer Brisbane had to put back, having damaged her steering gear. Her boats were washed overboard, and her decks were completely swept. It is further stated that the necessary repairs will occupy five days.
Sugar. Melbourne, Oct. 19.
Mauritius advices to the 16th inst. give a favorable aspect of the sugar crop, which has improved by the seasonable weather. Freights to New Zealand are 325. 6d., withbut little enquiry.
