Messrs. Matson and Co. report as follows on he business done at their sale on Friday, at their new premises. West street, Ashburton ; Properties —An unimproved section in Tinwald brought Li 6; sections at the Smithfield township near the cattle market brought as follows: —L 25, Ll2 10s, 4at Ll2 ; 1 at LS xos ; l at L 5 Js ; and ten others at from L 4 ias 6d to L 4 15s. A town section in Peters street fetched L 53, and 150 at the Hinds brought Li los per acre, and another lot of sixty acres fetched the same figure; both were unimproved. Several other lots of town and country land were unsold at the sale, but will be disposed of to better advantage probably. Horses— Light drafts, Ll 4 ss. to L 25 ; heavy, LlB, Lao, L 26, L3l to L 36; hacks, L 6 to Lis ;, outsiders* L 3 to L 7 10s. Harness, waggon f &c., at fair prices. Owing to the lateness o l the hour, several lots of implements and sundries had to beheld until a more favorable opportunity.
